About Me
Lifestyle Changes For Diabetes Control

My name is Tony Richards and when I turned 40 years old I began having unusual health symptoms including a powerful thirst and numbness in my hands. I went to see my doctor and after running tests he determined that I had diabetes. My doctor prescribed medicine for my condition and he also told me to make some lifestyle changes or the diabetes would get worse. I didn't want that to happen so I began researching ways to control diabetes. After implementing these ideas, my condition actually got better and I was able to reduce the amount of medication I was taking. If your doctor has diagnosed you with diabetes, it's very beneficial for you to read my blog so your condition doesn't worsen. I hope that by following this blog, it will help you to control your diabetes too.

Three Common Causes Of Stomach Pain

For Content

Are you experiencing consistent pain in your abdomen, but aren't sure of the cause? If so, read on for three common culprits and what you can do about them..

Gallstones

The gallbladder is a small organ located around the upper right corner of the abdomen. When functioning properly, the gallbladder stores excess bile from the liver and passes it to the intestines during digestion. Bile helps the body to break down fatty foods.

Sometimes, bits of bile can harden and form gallstones. A lack of physical activity, obesity, and family history can lead to an increased risk of gallstones. Women are more likely to develop them than men, as well. Many people with gallstones have no symptoms and require no treatment. However, some people experience intense pain around the gallbladder. Nausea, bloating, and gas are also common complaints. If the stone passes, the pain should subside. If the stone doesn't pass, it can lead to a condition called cholecystitis. This happens when the gallbladder becomes inflamed and can eventually lead to infection.

Persistent gallstones may be treated through a low-fat diet, or removal of the gallbladder. With cholecystitis, antibiotics can help treat infection.

Costochondritis

Costochondritis is a painful condition characterized by inflamed cartilage around the ribcage. Although those with costochondritis usually experience pain on the lower left side of their chest, the pain can be present anywhere around the ribs.

Costochondritis may have no apparent cause, or it can be related to other health problems such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, or an infection. The condition is usually benign, although some people may require breathing treatments, as the chest pain can make taking a full breath difficult.

Typically, costochondritis clears up within three to eight weeks, although it can occasionally linger for over a year. It's usually treated with rest and anti-inflammatory painkillers.

H. Pylori

Helicobactor pylori (commonly referred to as H. pylori,) is a type of bacteria found in the stomach. It's estimated that about two thirds of all people have H. pylori, and many of them experience no symptoms.

In some people, H. pylori can lead to stomach pain, weight loss, peptic ulcers, and bloating. If symptoms of H. pylori are present, a blood test, breath test, or stool sample may be used to determine if the bacteria is present. It can be treated with multiple antibiotics taken alongside antacids.
