Lifestyle Changes For Diabetes Control

My name is Tony Richards and when I turned 40 years old I began having unusual health symptoms including a powerful thirst and numbness in my hands. I went to see my doctor and after running tests he determined that I had diabetes. My doctor prescribed medicine for my condition and he also told me to make some lifestyle changes or the diabetes would get worse. I didn't want that to happen so I began researching ways to control diabetes. After implementing these ideas, my condition actually got better and I was able to reduce the amount of medication I was taking. If your doctor has diagnosed you with diabetes, it's very beneficial for you to read my blog so your condition doesn't worsen. I hope that by following this blog, it will help you to control your diabetes too.

Breast Lift Vs. Implants: Which Is Right For You?

For Content

If you are unhappy with how your breasts currently look or feel, you may consider getting a breast augmentation to change their appearance. However, there are many different types of augmentations to choose from, and each of them fill different needs. Below is some information to help you decide whether a breast lift, breast implant, or both would be the right choice for you.

Understanding the Difference Between a Breast Lift and a Breast Implant

When most people think of breast augmentation, they think of breast implants. This involves putting a prosthesis into the chest to change the shape, size, or contour of the breast. Most prostheses are made of either silicone or saline. Usually, implants are put in to increase the breast size, but they are occasionally used during reductions to change the breast shape as opposed to the size.

A breast lift does not involve a prosthetic. Similar to a face lift, it is the manipulation and reduction of skin to lift the breast. Specifically, it is used to change the positioning of the nipple to give the breast a perkier appearance.

Are your breasts sagging due to age or breastfeeding?

In most cases, if you have been happy with the size of your breasts in the past, but they start to sag due to age or breastfeeding, a lift will be sufficient enough to restore your breasts to their prime perkiness. On rare occasions, when the tissue is broken down to a point that a lift would not create a firm breast, an implant may be suggested.

Is a natural feel important to you?

Contrary to popular belief, breast implants can feel quite natural, both to you and to people who may be touching them. However, the amount of time it takes for them to feel natural and just how real they will feel depends on the material used, the placement, the size increase, and the amount of natural breast tissue you have to start with. If you are not an ideal candidate for a more natural feeling implant procedure, then a lift may be a better option for you, as you will retain only your natural breast tissue.

Is cost an issue?

If cost is an issue, you should consider an implant before a lift procedure. Although it may seem counter-intuitive, lifts often cost more than implants. This is because lifts tend to involve more complex restructuring of the tissue and take longer to complete than implant placement.

Do you have enough breast tissue to have a lift?

A breast lift requires a minimal amount of breast tissue to allow for a natural drop of the breasts. If you do not have enough breast tissue, due to a mastectomy or your natural lack of breast tissue, then you will need to consider sub-muscular implants. Sub-muscular implants are placed below the muscle and actually soften and stretch the muscle tissue to make it feel more like breast tissue over time.

You should also keep in mind that for most women, it is not a matter of a breast lift or an implant. The best option is often a combination of the two, lifting sagging skin, removing deteriorating tissue, and replacing it with an implant to give a firm, full, but natural feeling and looking breast.

If you are considering a breast augmentation, it is important that you know all of the options available to you. A consultation with a surgeon with imaging software will help you understand what the different procedures you are a candidate for can achieve and what the final result will look like on you.
